It took me years to fully appreciate it, but growing up in a small village in the French Alps was a true blessing. The slower pace of life allowed me to grow up immersed in nature and develop a deep sense of harmony with it. I’m sure that many who grew up in similar conditions, whether by the mountains, sea, or countryside, can relate. The mountains therefore hold a special place in my heart, alive and ever-changing. Just as you can never paint the same portrait of a person twice, the mountains constantly transform under nature’s influence, each time revealing something new. In this ongoing series, I chose to incorporate pure gold, a rare element that has been used for thousands of years across various cultures to symbolize the divine. This choice reflects my reverence for the mountains, capturing their sacred and timeless essence.
